Our company was founded in 2008 by three award-winning filmmakers, Tess Ortbals, JR Burningham, and Patrick Knipe. The filmmakers met in graduate school at USC's prestigious School of Cinematic Arts. The three partners worked together on numerous award-winning short films including THE LOST JOURNAL OF VICE MARCEAUX, SCARECROW, FUBAR, Rocco Deluca's music video "Gift", Coca-cola refreshing filmmaker finalist THE REPORT.
Mythmakers will revive classical tales full of new worlds, fantastic adventure, and history while holding to higher moral principles. And above all to instill, through film, the belief that we can all aspire to be greater than we are.
Our current project is a feature film titled A TOUCH OF MAGIC. A Touch Of Magic is a family comedy with elements of fantasy. The Stupendous Doctor Sham is the world's worst magician, a cynic who doesn't believe in magic. Until one day he crosses paths with a little girl who is looking for a magical mentor to teach her how to save her soldier father. Their journey together reminds us all why we want to believe in the impossible.
