The Stupendous Dr. Sham is the world’s worst magician: a con-artist man-child whose powers will not show themselves until... well... never. He is a cynic who lost his belief in magic and wonderment a long time ago.

When the two meet, Lilac becomes convinced Sham is “The One,” and no amount of bad behavior on his part will dissuade her. Then one day the inexplicable occurs while Lilac is pestering him, and Sham gets the brilliant idea to incorporate her into his act...
